Oh, and what about date and time sensing?

It seems like a few people have asked about locked cloud variables, modding, and mobile (or maybe i miscounted. )
I really liked some of BoltBait's questions; he really knew what to go for.
Keep the questions coming; some will be answered in a blog post, and i might just find a good place to answer others.

Will you be able to add friends along with following people?
Following is just friending, renamed.

What kind of stuff is being thought of for 2.1?
Nothing, yet. Actually, not true: custom reporters and booleans.S

In the forums, will the Scratchblocks plugin be better (with fewer glitches)?

will you be able to do this:
Change X of variable [x v] by 1
I understand what you mean by that, and I do not believe that the Scratch team will put that in during the first release. But if you are persistant enough, they might add it in 2.1 or a little later.

Will this website be changed, or will it be a different website?
It will probably be changed, but I don't think that I'll be a new website.

What I want so bad is to be able to exports as an swf file.
Also, my ideas are getting to rotatey and scaley for scratch so I can't wait for the vector graphics to come out :y

I have a question: what made them want to make it look like facebook?
second question: what is the current projected release date not year, date

There is no current projected release date.

I have a couple of questions for you:
4) I understand that we will have the ability to define functions, do these functions have the ability to return values?
Only later, e.g. 2.1/2.2
Can the function blocks be called recursively?
Of course...
Do they have local variables (local to the function instance)?
Probably not, but I don't know for sure
6) Will we have blocks to control turbo mode? Or, at least have a way to mark a project as only running in turbo mode (or non-turbo mode) if required?
They added a 'wrap turbo' block in the latest build, so I guess it's yes.
7) How is the performance of the block editor? (Please tell me that it is faster than 1.4.)
It's much better![]()
9) Have you implemented any of the top voted suggestions on the suggestion site?
The most of the suggestions here are implemented
10) When can we see it again?
Now! (You should really check the ATs sometimes)

I remember hearing they were thinking about doing another alpha limited-release this month--do we know if that's finalized and if so, when it will be?

It doesn't look so much like Facebook, besides for the top bar.
Good questions everyone, keep 'em coming!
(SO hard to choose just a couple!)

A few questions:
1.) Will the variable placement be better? Will it have a way of saving it's x/y positions, or setting the x/y positions with blocks?
2.) Will the variable displayers look different (both list and regular)?
3.) Are we allowed to "ban" someone from a project with good intentions? Like, if you make a chatroom, and a user id starts swearing everywhere, will you be allowed to add the user id to a blacklist that disallows them to use the project?
4.) Will Scratch take new audio formats, and if so, which ones?
5.) Will we be able to go over the 10MB limit, and if so, how far above can we go over it?
6.) Will there be more manipulation of sounds (like starting the sound from a specific time,)?
7.) There's problems with the flash player with playing the sounds built in to Scratch, will these problems be resolved, or will they just shorten the database of sounds to match up with what the flash player has?
8.) Will there be different names, or more categories, in the forums?
9.) (this question isn't about Scratch 2.0) What's the difference between this topic, and the one Lightnin posted: "Got Questions About Scratch 2.0?"?

I bet it will have a way to save the x/y positions, but I doubt you will be able to change it with blocks in 2.0. But it's certainly a good idea for 2.1.
2.) Will the variable displayers look different (both list and regular)?
They look no different than in the current flash player
3.) Are we allowed to "ban" someone from a project with good intentions? Like, if you make a chatroom, and a user id starts swearing everywhere, will you be allowed to add the user id to a blacklist that disallows them to use the project?
No. As this feature would most definitely be abused by many users. If someone swears, or is hostile to other users in any way, the ST has confirmed that you will be able to flag users as a whole. (and also inappropriate usernames, but that's a story for a different time
4.) Will Scratch take new audio formats, and if so, which ones?
This, I do not know.
5.) Will we be able to go over the 10MB limit, and if so, how far above can we go over it?
I don't think anything will limit you, except for lag.
6.) Will there be more manipulation of sounds (like starting the sound from a specific time)?
Yes. There is in 1.4, too I believe.
7.) There's problems with the flash player with playing the sounds built in to Scratch, will these problems be resolved, or will they just shorten the database of sounds to match up with what the flash player has?
My best guess would be that they will fix it, no guarantees though.
8.) Will there be different names, or more categories, in the forums?
Nothing much has been confirmed about the forums except that there will be new ones at all, but I'd guess that since they pretty recently-ish updated these forums, they will keep the format
9.) (this question isn't about Scratch 2.0) What's the difference between this topic, and the one Lightnin posted: "Got Questions About Scratch 2.0?"?
That one is for more specific questions you want to directly ask the entire community, these are going to be answered and put up to replace/add on to the current Scratch 2.0 FAQ.

Do you think the Scratch Team could release a project that lets you explore the interface of Scratch 2.0?
