Scratch 3d, mods, and squeak

Hey, Scratch! I know I quit, but i have an idea to create realtime 3d in scratch! (True 3d is natively possible in scratch but extremely, EXTREMELY, slow (See Cathar's ray tracer or various cube demos ) Anyway, scratch lacks the capability to create fast 3d because it offers no ability to distort textures (which is nessesary for texture mapping) or fast pen or pixel plotting to substitute or create rendering effects. This is due to a lack of dedicated blocks, and 2.0's BYOB may not allow for such advanced customization. So my thought is to code squeak into new blocks that would allow for 3d, or better yet, use MODS! Sounds like a good idea?!  smile

Google Search Alice  tongue  It's 3D already and IS scratch really, since the Scratch Team removed the Alice 3Dness of Scratch before actually releasing it.

I'm back.
Maybe.
