Nope. Pastafarianism is a joke religion revolving around the Giant Flying Spaghetti Monster. :p

Re: Pirating - your opinions?

I pirated minecraft at first, because my mom didn't trust online websites for buying things. When I pointed out that it's the same thing as WalMart or Target, she gave in. We're having problems with the credit card, but I'm buying it soon, because I want multiplayer.

I think this is perfect, because I pay later, but couldn't use a special feature of the program, like multiplayer or skins.

I see this as not wrong. It's like people paying for internet connection for their games. They pay for multiplayer. So do I.

Piracy can't be much of a problem, as everything to fight it has been unsuccessful. They only shut down limewire.

That wasn't a joke. It's a belief. I'm a Pastafarian, but don't make this thread a religious debate.

It's not a joke, it's a legimate religion.

Again, do NOT make this a religious topic. I probably shouldn't have said that in the first place.

Too late, this is becoming a topic where we discuss religions and whether some of them are serious or not. Religious topics aren't allowed on the Scratch forums, and I can see trouble starting already, last chance to turn back to the original topic before this gets closed. :I

Re: Pirating - your opinions?

Okay, back on topic. I think pirating is okay if the company makes a ton of money anyway, like Adobe or Apple. But if it's only a tiny company, than no.

Not that I pirate stuff.

It's not too late; GHS is trying to get everyone back on topic. Mini-modding to reprimand him isn't really appropriate nor polite here.

Trying to by having half of the post contributing to the argument? It's not okay to continue the argument and then ask everyone else to stop. My intentions were to step in as someone who was not contributing to the argument and try to reroute the topic back, but I suppose having a moderator do it was the more appropriate thing to do.

Re: Pirating - your opinions?

Sorry about getting everything off topic with something not allowed on Scratch. Let's move on, okay?

According to Wired, everyajor ISP has blocked the Pirate Bay.

Umm, no...
Edit: That may be talking about Britain. They have some new law blacklisting them, but not here in the US.

I don't know. I read Wired UK.

Yes, I know for a fact that the UK passed a law that required all ISPs to block The Pirate Bay. The thing I hate about "anti-piracy" laws are this:
They don't stop the problem. Some noobs might not be able to access their precious free music, but truly any effective pirate will be perfectly capable of using a proxy based in the US (or even Sweden) to access The Pirate Bay. And really all that needs to be obtained is the torrent seed. Any contact outside of the country could download the .torrent file and email it to the recipient within the firewall. I don't think this would even be illegal for the transferer as they do not download or upload the copyrighted work. From there, there is no way to stop the flow of p2p communication.
Let's not forget that the government can't ban Bittorrent. BitTorrent is a perfectly legitimate method of file transfer (Most Linux distros can be downloaded via BitTorrent, it reduces load on the main servers) that also just happens to be commonly used for pirating. If BitTorrent was shut off completely, people would just go back to downloading their files using HTTP.

Re: Pirating - your opinions?

New question:

Let's say Bob creates a video, and releases it for view on his web site for free, at no cost. Is it okay to download that from an "unofficial" source, or with a flash video download program to view off of the site?

He would have to download it himself. You could just as easily link him to the website.
