Komen walk for a cure

I just got back from a Komen walk for a cure. ( i was in the cheering section ^^) It lasted three long days and and I got nine new pins ( yay![ I'm an avid pin collector. I have about 50 Disney pins, so I am always on the look out for ones that arn't so pricey.]) I never strayed far from the Darth Vader poster, a piece of chalk, chalk-drawn artwork, and 19CANDYGIRL. If you know anyone that as affected by cancer please post something about them.
On a slightly different note, me and my friends donated $450 to Susan G. Komen from a lemonade sale. Also feel free to post stories about that kind of stuff.

If you go to walks, you will never see adults as obsessed about stickers anywhere else. One very important thing I have learned from the walks I have gone to.

Re: Komen walk for a cure

There are much better ways to donate to cancer than Komen that will go directly to research, unlike that charity's received donations.

I know the cure. < smile

The cure is a healthy vegan diet and exercise every day. Just ask Sonja Wood.  smile

That's not a guaruntee.

Specifically, Sonja Wood is one person.
One person does not have a statistically high chance of getting cancer even if it's possible.
One vegan != all vegans

And aside from that, the healthiest person in the world can still get cancer.

Re: Komen walk for a cure

Why does everyone like breast cancer so much? Is it because it's pink?
I never see any "Help Cure Lung Cancer" or "Cure Skin Cancer" or "Cure A Cancer that isn't Breast Cancer" as anyone's bumper sticker. It's weird.

But anyway, nice job on the walk!

Yeah... Weird.

It is a little strange, but I think it's because breast cancer is the most common right now.

did you know that a quarter of a million people will come down with breast cancer?
250,000 people will get it in the next year.

Uh... I'm pretty lung and breast are approximately the same. :L
And it's also the most well publicised, so that's why.
