No, I think a lot of them don't really hate the show itself, they hate the obsessive culture that's sprung around it and the fact that lots of bronies are really obnoxious and bring it up everywhere. Kind of like how lots of people who dislike vegans don't hate the practice itself, they hate the way the people act.

There's this one guy in some of my classes who's the bad kind of brony. In fact, I think he just knows about the meme and hasn't actually watched the show but pretends to because he's the kind of person who really likes memes.
