One of the most underrated alt-rock bands...
Keane. These guys are amazing. For proof, check this out.
They're sort of like Coldplay, but at the same time, they sound a lot of different. Their sound is more based on pianos, giving them an Elton John-ish sound, and they also have more Beatles-y melodies. Additionally, they herald a very strong vocalist, who yields a grandiosity in his voice that could even be compared to the likes of Freddie Mercury. *prepares troll shield*
I have their album "Hopes and Fears", and I'm looking forward to collecting the rest of their catalog. 
Discuss Keane.

Alternitive rock, underrated? And a great band?
Superchunk is right there. It's an epic underrated band. If you listen to them, Either listen to the albums "Majesty Shredding" or "No Pocky For Kitty" You won't regret it.
I like Majesty Shredding better out of the two, but it's funny how it came out two years ago.
And what era is Keane?

Cool, I'll remember to listen to those albums. I'll let you know what I think of them.
And Keane released their first single independently in 2000, and their first album in 2004 - so they're pretty much in the same era as Coldplay, the post-Britpop era.

True. I remember the first time I heard Keane. It took my breath away; I can scarely remember any other track that affected me the way "Somewhere Only We Know" did.
