Seriously, why must you insist there's a serious difference?
because he thinks there is
personally i dont care about what kind of computer i use as long as its functional, although ive always used windows and therefore like to lean towards pc over mac

There are some advantages to different operating systems. For example, if you have software that requires a specific operating system then obviously you would need that. You may not want to go through the trouble of getting a Mac if you don't need OSX and will just need to install Windows. If you need OSX, like for xCode, your only legal option is to get a Mac.

Imma windows
Macs are ok, I guess, I like the windows layout and processes and the open-ness, but I HATE the Mac community. Everyone is like "GET A MAC WINDOWS IS STUPID AND NOOBY".

Whoa, we're just trying to help; and that's not a very nice way of talking to the Mac community, either.

So according to your logic @steve, I'm a noob because I didn't waste $500 more dollars on a mac? *sighs*

Steve:
Uhm, Windows has a lot more creative freedom in it anyway if you use the right programs.
I mean, Mac is okay, but it's "creative" content is built in with the restrictions Apple wants you to have so Windows allows you to find programs that suit your specific needs.
And if we're going by ONLY downloading, not anything that comes on the system, neither.
And I would say Mac if more for computer "noobs" because it's made to be EXTREMELY user-friendly, almost to a fault.

Whoa there, we don't wanna cause trouble.
And I will say this, some Windows fanboys are WORSE than the mac fanboys (Never said steve is one though), but there are just less of the pc fans.

Wow, wow, I never said anyone was a noob, and I never said anything directly to you based on your computer situation...and I would rather not have my words be twisted and be misquoted.
Now, back on topic: I think the Mac App Store is a big upside for Macs, although it's not perfect yet.

Just curious but what advantages does it have over the Ubuntu Software Centre?
