What If Sonic X Ended with... SONIC sacraficing himself instead of Cosmo?

This is how I would've done the last two episodes:

77. Cosmo's Work, Sonic's Final Hour

When the giant seed finally reaches the final stage of its metamorphosis and starts sucking the life out of everyone except for Cosmo, she takes the Chaos Emeralds to Eggman, thinking that he'll know what to do. Unfortunately, Dark Oak attacks Cosmo, who drops the Chaos Emeralds into space. Thankfully, they close in on Sonic and Shadow, who use them to transform into Super Sonic and Super Shadow and attack the Metarex seed. But, once they destroy it, they reveal an even smaller planet with a gravitational force that could potentially destroy the whole galaxy!

Cosmo feels hopeless, but with her Mother in mind, she assumes she must sacrafice herself. When Tails has an emotional scene before and after he blasts Cosmo, he realizes that it didn't destroy it! Luckily for Tails, Cosmo is also alive, but he comes to tears when he has to blast, Sonic! When Dark Oak reveals that this whole time he wanted to stop Sonic, because he knew Sonic would end up destroying him without Cosmo's help! As Sonic prepares for his mighty sacrafice for the universe, Shadow goes into the Sonic Driver as Tails loads it up. Everyone is shocked and does not know whether or not to risk saving the galaxy if they're going to kill Sonic in the process. Tails, however, is very hesitant, but Cosmo re-assures him that Sonic will spread his Super form's energy around the galaxy, giving its life back. Sonic calls out to Tells and says that its the only way, and its for the best. Tails then thinks back to all of the good times they've had and, tearfully, fires Super Shadow at the planet, completely destroying it. Sonic then greets Tails a final "farewell" vision saying he'll never forget Tails. The episode ends with Amy yelling Sonic's name.

78. The Rebirth of the Planets

The episode starts off with Vanilla stopping by the Chaotix Detective Office to thank the Chaotix for all that they did for her Cream. Amy and Cream then bring a whole bunch of snacks to Tails to try and cheer him up. Chris then flashes back to the point just when the planet with Sonic on it was being destroyed. Lucas is seen following Hertia to peace. Suddenly, the planet begins to expand all of its energy. Shadow and Cosmo tries to stop it, but then Shadow pushes (and almost punches) Cosmo out of the way, and Shadow uses the last of his energy to perform Chaos Control to stop time, giving everyone else a chance to escape. Eggman then worries that Shadow may not have survived the Chaos Control he did to save everyone, and he begins to feel some remorse for Shadow. Meanwhile, Cosmo approaches Tails with only a strand of blue hair from Sonic. Tails, already upset about losing him, finally falls into Cosmo's arms crying. Cosmo then leans in to Tails and kisses him as they fly away.

Back on their homeworld, Chris and Knuckles have a little discussion about what's next for Chris, and they fall along the lines of where Chris' home would be now that he can't go back. Near the end of the episode, however, Eggman shows Chris an egg-shaped pod that will take him home, but there's a catch: Chris only has 3 minutes to return home, or else he could be stuck in Sonic's world! Chris has no time to say goodbye to his friends, just as Eggman planned. Chris then leaves Sonic's universe via Eggman's pod. Sonic's Spirit however is able to say goodbye to Chris as he is running. Once Chris is gone from sight, Eggman says that with Chris out of the way, he can continue his creation of the Eggman Empire.

Rouge however still has the amulet which she took from Bokkun that shows who he has a crush on. Bokkun's amulet is opened and we get to see who his crush is. Bokkun has a crush on Cream the Rabbit.

As the gang rushes of to beat Eggman once more, Tails runs from a statue/grave of Sonic that says "Life never stays slow around here for long, thank god! So watch out, 'cause everyone here's going full-speed in memory of Sonic the Hedgehog!"
