When I attempt to upload a project all goes normally until it reaches "Connecting to scratch.mit.edu...", at which point it just stays there forever. I think the problem is caused by our security program not letting scratch have internet access as it worked fine until I tried to open a project made with a version of scratch 1.4 that had the mesh feature and the security program suddenly asked if I should give it internet access and I got scared and blocked it.
Another possibility is the slowness of the scratch site lately but there are lots of other new projects and the problem would've come up earlier if others were experiencing it too.
If anyone knows how to turn off the block on scratch having internet access please help and you should probably know that for some reason the links to scratch's help pages from the downloaded version still work, it just won't let me upload.

It's called McAfee, why do you need to know?
I needed to know because it's easier to determine which security program might be the culprit and possibly causing your problem (ie. was it Windows Defender, Windows Firewall, or, in your case, McAfee). That way, it's easier to remove the block.
I don't have McAfee, but, if McAfee is anything like the two other security programs I have running on my laptop, there should be something in McAfee that allows you to see the blocked program and unblock it. I found this when searching Google, hopefully it helps:
