Dear Scratch Team:
It's been quite a while since the last news update on 2.0--the latest entry on your blog is from April 23rd. Surely someone "in the know" can take five or ten minutes out of their day to tell us the latest information. There ought to be some new news (lol) to tell, and I'm sure the entire Scratch community would appreciate any update you can give us.
Many thanks for your hard work,
Greenatic

UPDATE: Since a beta will be released in August (see below), and another update may be pending, I am reporting this topic for closure. I may request that it be re-opened in the future if this sort of situation pops up again.

We talked it over and decided that we do want to keep the alpha editor / website private. So please don't use it or share it with others, or try to find ways to access it in the future.
However, we are planning on doing another limited release during which we'll open it up to the whole community this coming August. When we reach beta, we may even keep it open for some time so we can get help finding and documenting bugs from members of AT and other communities on Scratch.

Well, I'm really grateful for the public alpha. But it's been a few months, and if Scratch 2.0 really is going to be released later this year, then there's got to be some news.

That was about 2 months ago, and they have had to add at least a few things since then.

Exactly.
(And I'm assuming that qualifies as support. )

I'm pretty sure we don't want parts of Scratch 2.0 made public until it's ready for release. But I did send an email out to some other team members to see what they thought of the idea. No response yet...
