Re: EclipticFreak - A Collab Between Amazing Enigmas

tongue  So sorry, I didn't see this. I've been thinking of some ideas and I only really have one decent one.

It'd be a black and white platformer/shooter, in which whatever the player shoots becomes colorful. There would be different types of enemies which you'd (obviously) have to shoot, and they'd like turn into a flower of something.

Whoa, that's funny. I was having a black and white platformer idea too! I like your idea.

Okay, so are we going to use that idea? If so, I can start thinking of a name and other details.

Nice website, by the way.
I'm actually creating a single paged website as well. I'll have to host it and show you.

Thank you.  smile  I haven't worked on mine in awhile and I really should add more stuff. tongue

Your fiddles are quite good! I really like The Social Bug.

As for the names, I like canvas and also the word tenebrous (meaning 'dark; shadowy or obscure').

Pshhh, I probably wouldn't have agreed to a collab if it weren't to someone with programming skills like you have.

Maybe a simple person kinda like this?

We could of course change the color and whatnot. :)

Yeah, I like the simple person design.  smile  For some reason it kinda reminded me of this.
We need to organize the work so we can act on it correctly.

I think you'd be better at the characters, if that's okay with you. I can do the terrain and background if you would like.

Alright. So, is that how you would like the main character? I like it. I can redo it, if needed, but I like how it looks now.

And also, what setting, plot, goal is this gonna have? That might help with what the villains will look like.
We could do a more post apocolypse, robotic, steampunk type look with a 1920's feel to it. The villains could be rusty, old, broken black/grey robots.

What do you think?

You should redo the character. It was just a quick mockup.

As for the setting, I really like your idea. I could make broken down, rusty cars and stuff for the background/terrain.

Cool. Let's get to work...
Who should make the first mockup of the game? I think we should post the sprites here, and then someone can take them and...yeahh....do....that....

So, you don't want to post the sprites on here? I'll start making the backgrounds and if I have the chance I'll work on the character movement and sensing.

Also, is it going to be in pixel art graphics? I think that'd look good.

Yeah, we post the sprites and terrains here.
Then someone can work on the mockup of the game.  smile

Oh yeah, sure. Um, I'm not incredibly good with pixel art...but it would look nice.

If you can't make some of the pixel art. I can always try. Here, are some good pixel art tutorials.

I finished one background, I think it'd be cool if we had a couple of backgrounds that would change each level.

Great job. That's pretty dang good.  smile
And yeah, I think a couple of backgrounds would probably be best. It makes it interesting.

Thanks for the link.  smile  I'll work on the characters...
