A few notes:
1. The Scratch Team  at MIT did not create the app so we cannot provide any kind of support for it.

2. We also do not get anything from the sales of the app.

[Edit: The Scratch app linked above was later removed from the App store because Apple stated that it violates their app store policies. You can read more about this issue here.

Yeah, I heard about the new regulations. An app cannot be published if it alters the code of the devIce. A scratch player would have to alter the code so it can play the projects.
Oh well.
Interesting fact, I am using my IPod touch to type this message!

Is it legal to post the app online somewhere and you can get it if your iPod is jail broken (mine isn't). (this is for people whose iPods are already jail broken because I don't think you can unjail-break it and I wouldn't recommend jail-breaking them.)

You can unjail-break it by restoring it back to the sync you were supposed to do with iTunes before jeal-breaking it. The only downside to jailbreaking it is major iOS updates, and it doesn't get support from Apple. And yes, it is legal, but Apple doesn't like it. And I'm not sure if this is how it works, but you might be able to put it up on the OpenAppMkt.

Because it violated Apple's terms of service. Don't blame Apple for taking it down either, because it was already in their policy, and the app openly violated it.

Re: iPhone App

Anyone have the original .app? You could find the company that made it and ask politely to have it put up in Cydia. BigBoss, a major repo, explicitly allows apps in that were rejected by [removed - please use respectful language]Apple.

bye 1.4, we all loved you. but we all outgrew the site. 2.0 is a welcome change.

Tut tut, you musn't insert swearing into your posts. *waggles finger disapprovingly at you*

Anyway, that would be a good idea. I'm not sure if anyone still has the original .app, though.

I do, but it's here somewhere. I know I have it for sure.

Re: iPhone App

I think they should just make a mobile version of the website with a keypad inserted at the bottom of the screen. That way, they don't even NEED an app. Quote me if you agree.
