Look for the files in the ScratchSkin directory that look like they would contain the stuff you want to modify, modify them, and then reload the skin (search around for how to do it).

Inside your mod's default directory, add the ScratchSkin folder. If it's a .zip, extract the files. Then edit the skin files.
LS97 wrote a good tutorial on it.

You can download gimp via www.gimp.org or a free 30 day trial of adobe fireworks cs6 via www.adobe.com/products/fireworks.html or www.adobe.com/go/tryfireworks. I recommend gimp for color changing of categories (because it is cleaner) but Fireworks for just about everything else. Fireworks can darken pretty clean, which appears as what you are trying to do.

That's a real big job. You'd probably have to consider it a collaboration. You'd be better off doing it yourself with the instructions I gave you.

Oh, just that surrounds the logo? I thought you meant the entire interface, because that's what you said in an earlier post.
But still, downloading gimp or fireworks isn't hard. There are other editors too, I just can't name a bunch.
