About the black background: I know it's boring, but it was the only way I could get the game to flow smoothly- everything I added just made it too cluttered.

Awesome, thanks ^^ The s thing is annoying because someone else had the same problem and it shouldn't be a problem...I'll try to work it out though.
Not sure whether I'll change the slowness but I think health might be sort of glitched for the main ship since it died after ha;f hits last time I tried it...

I just realised - the text skipping thing...was that only at the end of dialogue? because in that case the way its programmed means that a piece of dialogue pops up that is not relevant to you at that point - it's just a quirk of the program.
