Drib’ble by rlojunior

Programming/Complexity: 11/20
Your average/above average scratcher could accomplish this, but it’d be relatively hard for new scratchers. Complexity=yes, because the variables were written in Spanish (I think) and it was hard for me to understand but after reading your script carefully, it wasn’t a problem doing a mini translation. The programming was nicely condensed, but there were multiple sprites with the same scripts.

Graphics: 2/20
Not really outstanding graphics, just two circles on the screen that left paths. You could include a storyline which would let you also change their images, such as a chasing game where the red dot “chases” you. The background was nonexistent.

Gameplay: 7/20
The gameplay was fun the first 3 times I played it. I enjoyed the mind exercise under pressure (the timer).  Then, I got extremely annoyed that I couldn’t beat level 2. I took about 15 tries and would’ve kept going or altering the script so that I could skip to level 3. The timer ruins the game. No offense, but I hated it from the start. The game would be so much better in my opinion without the 10 second time limit. I didn’t like that at all. Since it is a puzzley type game, you need time to think, not just to be constrained to 10 seconds. When you wrote casual game in the post requesting a review, I wasn’t expected for a nerve-racking experience with 10 seconds. That’s what kept you from getting a 10 or above.

Sound: 11/20
The sound doesn’t really match the title, but it made me feel like the little circles were technologically involved in something, so you could make the background a giant circuit board and make the circles squares, like pixels.

Originality: 13/20
I’ve never seen anything like it on the scratch website but have seen similar things on other websites. Still, I liked the general idea.

How about for animations instead of gameplay we have storyline?

Re: The Bit Reviews

World of Gummy Part 1 by Thescratch3

Programming/Complexity: 5/20
An average new scratcher could have done this project, I don’t know. I don’t see much effort put into this project. No offense.

Graphics: 5/20
The graphics weren’t at all what I had expected. The title screen didn’t even say world of gummy, it said world of scratch. Again, not much work put into this category.
Storyline: 7/20
I didn’t quite see a storyline. Maybe you could’ve either made a game part where you fight the gray guy or show you fighting the gray guy. It was kind of boring and short.

Sound: 5/20
All sounds are sort of generic, including the music. Pops when you advance dialogue aren’t necessary, they got kind of tedious.

Originality: 6/20
I’ve seen many animations like this: a guy has an idea, they go somewhere, beat someone up or get beat up, then leave. I mean, look at yugioh, bakugan, pokemon, and all those other shows. The follow that above plot. Also, basing it off of Mario when it isn’t at all like Mario isn’t a great idea in my opinion.

Re: The Bit Reviews

I think you should change your grading rubric. Programming/ complexity is definitely more important than sounds, so it should be weighted more.

Don't hate on the bland background, I tried more interesting ones but it everything too confusing and black ended up being the best.

Aroball 3 by UItraAdam
Programming/Complexity: 9/20
I already sort of knew the code once I figured out how to play, but an average new scratcher might not have known about the “if touching ___”. And I couldn’t get the codes section to work. It just said “Codes?”
Graphics: 7/20
The graphics weren’t that great but still I liked the wings flapping. A new scratcher might have just made this floating character with no sprite. And the lava and water could’ve had a texture or more of a liquid shape.
Gameplay: 9/20
I didn’t quite see a storyline. Maybe there was one in version one or something? The majority of the people wouldn’t want to search for aroball one for a storyline. But, the movements were smooth. One thing that I would’ve liked to see is in the water, when you move, you continue in that direction. Like create a variable called moving and set it at 1 when moving and 0 when not. Another variable would be direction and 0 is up, 1 is left, 2 is down, and 3 is right. So the script could be something like if touching color blue and moving=1, if direction=0 move x steps in direction 90, etc,
Sound: 11/20
The sound is good. I liked the music, but it got repetitive. Maybe like an idea would be to have different songs for different characters, depending on the characters.
Originality: 17/20
I haven’t seen anything like it, but to make it even more original, you could’ve made a similar music on some music creator like noteflight?

Ms. Pac-man by ifugu

Programming/Complexity: 6/20
The program wasn't too hard, and I noticed that the ghosts didn't follow you and just went about on their own path. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Graphics: 12/20
The graphics were close to the original pac man graphics, but you can go above and beyond with the graphics.

Gameplay: 8/20
The gameplay was responsive and like the original version. But again, maybe you could've made something above and beyond again. Also, there were no cherries or anything.

Sound: 9/20
Pac Man music, nice! But also, above and beyond, like you could've added a theme to pac man or something, or made it girly-looking because of ms pacman.

Originality: 3/20
Again, above and beyond. Your game was practically Pacman but with one changed sprite and an added Ms. to the beginning. Also, it was missing some of the Pac Man elements. Also, there are tons of Pac Man games out there, but not many if any have a theme or are higher than what one would usually expect.

Total: 38/100

Also, just a side note: Shouldn't she be pacwoman
