There actually aren't any versions between 1.4 (the latest) and 2.0 (the next); because 2.0 is a complete rewrite of Scratch, the ST decided to move up to 2.  tongue

Re: Is johnm part of the scratch team?

Actually no, he's not a member of the Scratch Team. He is involved in the development of 2.0, and his location is set to Cambridge, MA, so I'm guessing he goes to MIT and helps out as part of his schooling.

Well, he's listed as part of the LLK (http://llk.media.mit.edu/people.php, John Maloney)

Not all Scratch Team members have the Scratch Team title, johnm is one of them. There's a few other members out there that are involved with the development of Scratch and the Scratch website yet don't have the Scratch Team title.

Yeah, I was thinking all ST members had that title, but I guess you learn something everyday.  smile

Actually, John does have an account that has the Scratch Team rank; just not that one.

Uh... s/he was saying that it was stupid, which I don't agree with.
@original question
They're rewriting it in Flash so it can use HTML5 (I think) and because it's been so long since they last updated it would be easier to rewrite it rather then port it to Flash and then update with all the new blocks they've planned.

cause a bird and a fish could fall in love/but where would they live?
