You'd need to have all the scripts inbuilt into the game and then have the player choose a control method. You can have many preset controls and the player can customise their controls, though.
"Don't insult someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes. That way, if they don't like what you have to say, you'll be a mile away and still have their shoes
