I would like to be able to use {IMAGE URL} inside the IMG tag inside the CODE tag, but I keep getting the unapproved domain alert. I'm stuck using http://photobucket.com/example_url.png. Is this fixable?

you can only post images from approved domains due to the troll attack a little while back
just upload your images to imageshack or photobucket or any of the other approved sites

I know, but you cannot use {IMAGE URL} in the IMG tag when using the CODE tag. Therefore your examples are harder to understand.

If an image was from ImageBlah (an unapproved domain) He couldn't use it inside the
CODE tag, even though if it wasinside te code tag it wouldnt show up
