(Not sure if this goes here or not. :P)

When I look at people's projects, I always read the Project Notes. Sometimes, when I read the Project Notes, I see something like " If you don't want Weegee to haunt you, go to this project (link to project) and comment FALCON PUNCH!" Comment wars. That's when two or more people give link to each other's projects in the Project Notes, and tell people to go there and spam something.

I used to participate in comment wars. I'd view the project, and have fun commenting whatever it was I had to comment. But recently, I got two messages saying that the Scratch Team had removed two of my comments on projects. Spam war comments. Then I realized that I was actually spamming. I'd always thought that spam was when you gave a link to project in a comment, or said something like "I have a new project, can you guys view it?", or "Can you guys please view my stuff?" But I was wrong. Comment wars are spam, too.

So, please. Don't participate in comment wars. It would make the Scratch Community a much better and happier place. :)

I recall making a topic about this, but im too lazy to go find it.

TOTAL support here, I hate seeing those. it just promotes spamming and can hurt people's feelings if they suddenly get attacked.

i think its fine when its simply fun between two people

it doesnt have to be in real life as long as both people are okay with the other linking to their projects and having people comment on them

It wasn't really an absolute, more of a hyperbole used to express something of a more subtle nature but okay

Spam is harmless, it's a waste of effort to deal with it unless it exceeds 10 comments.
