The Censorship of the Main Page

COME ON!! I think we've all had enough anime cats and cheesy hamsters. We should have a policy were a person may only have ONE project on the Main Page at once. And it should have only some of a kind of project.  mad

And I agree. Doody's projects have been on the frontpage a lot, and they should be gone by now.

Maybe only let these projects stay for a determinate time. 3 days or so. And after the project's gone the user has to wait a month (or 2 weeks?) to come back to front page.  smile

Re: The Censorship of the Main Page

We have made a first step. Yesterday we released some changes to the front page that prevent a project to be on the front page more than once. So even if it is Top Loved and Top Viewed for example, it would only appear in one category. Another change is that now self-remixes are not counted towards the calculation for Top Remixes.  What you suggest is in the plans too.

Remember, Doody makes a project about every five minutes so it'll take a while for her projects to all get the chance on front page.

That's practically true.

I fall: It's a tragedy. You fall: It's comedy.
Hmph enjoy your fall - I get a lovely spring... without pans of new leaves.

Re: The Censorship of the Main Page

Top Viewed category is full of LongPatrol, MaskedStar and other "Anime Cats, Inc." stuff. Then, Top Remixes is a big load of "Cheesy Hamsters Ltd." projects. Maybe THIS is a way:
1. Prevent projects from being shown another time on the list when it gets 1st place
2. Remove it from the list after, let's say, a week being on first three positions
3. Deny users from uploading projects more often than 10 mins on the same IP - this should give the other people chance to get their project on a view.
