3D paint programs are way more complex than that and this belongs in suggestions not new scratchers.

3D Scratch would be cool, but I'm not sure if its the direction the Scratch Team is really interested in. I'll move this topic to the suggestions forum so you can get more feedback.  smile

Totally. Plus, Scratch runs in Squeak, which, to my knowledge, does not support 3D. AND 3D models usually have 500+ faces, meaning that you would need 500+ costumes, and 2000+ positions, and textures, reflections, physics, particle effects, collision detection, a rendering engine, 3D sensing, a new camera morph... In fact, you would have to redesign Scratch entirely, and in another programming language... *shudder* Sorry, this just isn't gonna work.

Exactly, if you want 3D, use Alice.

Flash can do 3D with the proper extensions, such as Unity.

but usinty is not widly used so i don't think the ST is going to make a 3D made with unity 3d player.

Hey, I'm on your side, I'm just saying, 3D is possible in flash.

Alice does not stink, it is very good, sounding a bit like Scratch, Alice is cool, but I gave this idea to make a 3D without having to choose the other, and if you want to make your own, not to model Blender also.

Scratch 2.0 will work in Flash Player, you're half right, because the Scratch 2.0 in the offline version will work in Squeak

reasons why alice stinks:
1. you have to use the selection of sprites they have because there is no 3D paint editor on alice
2.UI is hard for begginers  to understand
3.some blocks do not work at all

also i have installed alice before and if you want to see some more problems with alice look here: http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic.php?id=98960
