You know, for a TV-Y7 show, Gravity Falls isn't half bad. Being older than seven, I naturally resented, thinking it would be like Dora the Explorer or something. But turns out, it has absolutely no moral in the story,  wink  so it is a lot more like Nickelodeon's Spongebob Squarepants. I like that it is geared towards toddlers and preschoolers through 1st-graders, yet the twins are both 12 y/o, Wendy  cool  is a teenager, and Soos, the man/child, is well, a man. Sort of. The stories are well written enough, and the characters are easy to relate to.  big_smile  -Wacky P.

Who said it was geared toward 1st graders?

No it doesn't...
http://www.tvguidelines.org/

Then wouldn't rated R mean about 17? That means that a bunch of adults watch movies that they're way too old for. And what does TVY mean then?

Well, not really. He said it was aimed towards them. It's aimed towards 7+ I guess. Maybe some other age group.

I think it's for pre-teens, though I'm in the early teen section. The monsters and mysteries kinda sound like an older kid thing. Plus, some of the jokes are funnier to older kids, like the 'Sascrotch' XD

Yeah, actually at first, I thought it was Zeus too. But if you go to the Disney website, it says he's called 'Soos' and after the first episode you can hear them say his name clearer. :3

Re: Gravity Falls!

Some of you guys may think this is nothing but a kids show, But It creeps me out and Im a tween. Why it freaks me out: Its alot scarier than you think. The theme song isnt just a theme song. Its a key to decoding MANY codes and finding out alot of secrets. If you listen to the song, at the end you will hear whispering. if you play the end of the theme song backwards then you will here the gibberish it was whispering before turn into it whispering "Three letters back. meaning, to decode some thing like this: IDUW , youll have to go three letters back in the alphabet. At the end of every episode, in the credits you will see a code of random letters. take a pic and decode it to find out more about the next episode coming out the following week. also decode stuff writen in the book that dipper has. find a pic of the page with the circle and symbols, and you will figure out some stuff.  wink

@Sascrotch: rofl. That never gets old.

Anyways, Mabel is my favourite character. Soos is in second.

Yeah, I heard that the theme song was the key to decoding all those things at the end credits and stuff. I actually think it's fun, but we all have different opinions :3
The '3' book codes are awesome, if you're talking about the flash of the page in the opening. If you go 'three letters back' on the message on that page, it says that Stan is not what he seems. Also, there's a ring of images on the page, and every image represents a character. For example, there's a pine tree, shooting star, and question mark, which represent Dipper, Mabel, and Soos. There's also stuff like a bag of ice and Gideon's tent symbol.
Also, did you know that there is a 'Mystery Guy' hidden in every episode? He's a background character that is only on-screen for about a second, then he never appears again until the next episode. Some people think he's time-traveling...
XD Wow, I'm such a nerd.

Maybe the bag of ice is for the monster that was supposedly in the freezer? And I think the star thingy with a symbol in the middle is for Gideon, cause like I said, it's on his tent.

@CatPerson: Stereotypically a nerd would watch things aimed toward older people like Star Trek, Star Wars, Firefly, Doctor Who, etc.

I'm watching it on the disney website for the first time.
|UPDATE TO DECODING: Ice bag means 'lifting of the soul'/death.  tongue
ANOTHER UPDATE: Maybe it's wendy, because in episode 5, almost every scene with Wendy in it has an ice bag.

What.

I'm pretty sure Ice Bag means ice bag or something similar.
Guessing, of course.

But seriously, the credits may have codes but that doesn't mean everything in the show is one.
