I was thinking we could work together to make a mesh MMOG. I could host, since I have a public IP address, or we could use hamachi. We wouldn't need a login system, it could be free-for-all. We could have telnet monitors, that could crash the server on any hint of inappropriate behavior. Only one problem. How to create sprites? Maybe we could fill the screen with invisible sprites? That sounds kinda long and painful, not fun. Anyone with ideas, please post.

Ugh, where to start answering...
Telnet monitors are people who open up command prompt or terminal and type:
telnet server.mysite.com 42001
When an inappropriate message appears on the screen, they type something like "frqwefjiwqiwfjio3jfo2jfi3o2f31oif1ji2", which crashes the mesh server.
To learn how to get mesh, go here.
Hamachi is a good solution to having a private IP address. All hamachi IPs are public, and only useable for other hamachi users. Basically, if you have a private IP, get hamachi (or if you don't, so you can connect to hamachi servers.)

Yes. Basically, every time a user joins, brodcast "newuser"
When you receive newuser, you create a sprite, and give it a private variable, username. Set that private variable to [username] sensor value. The one where we make lots of sprites, but hide them, I was thinking we could scatter sprites all over the screen, then set all their ghost effects to 100, and when a user takes one, the ghost effect is set to 0.
The movement and chatting techniques can be found in my project MMOG1, here:
