Re: The Walruses - A Beatles Tribute Band on Scratch

All4one, do you have a webcam (not an in-built one into your computer, but a separate device)? Detachable webcams from any computer via USB port usually come with a mic. If you have one, you can use that to record vocals, since you don't have a drum kit. George Harrison's voice is probably the weakest in terms of stability and vulnerability of the four Beatles (Ringo just doesn't have a great range), so any one can imitate him here I suppose, even if you can't record at all.

Re: The Walruses - A Beatles Tribute Band on Scratch

Guys, I appreciate this, but my parents probably wouldn't want my voice on the Internet anyway.  tongue

Anyways, I found out today while singing along to some Beatles tunes that I can sing a whole lot more than George's songs - I found that I can actually sing a good amount of John's and Paul's songs. I'm pretty happy about that. xD

I'm not the only one who sings along with Beatles songs then. I asked my parents and they said my voice is ok.

Polythene Pam sounds quite good.  smile

I'm sure it'll sound great with the other tracks, including the distorted guitar fills.

She Came In Through the Bathroom Window sounds decent too. The rhythm is played slightly differently, but I suppose it'll sound okay in the mix.  big_smile

I couldn't quite hear it through all the other instruments but I imitated best I could. I've never really used a pick before  tongue

Btw, your sigs are done. I'll post them soon.

Did you try adjusting the treble values while playing to the track? Anyway, this is a rather good job.  smile

I won't be changing my sig just as of yet since my current one is rather new and Frozen Coco is something bigger to me. The Walruses has always been considered a sort of side-project just for the fun of it, while I'm more serious about FC because I write my own songs. It'll thus be a while before I change my sig.

The other members can change their sigs now though, to get the publicity in.  wink

Awesome sigs!  big_smile  By the way, jji, do you think you could post your guitar parts through Soundcloud? If not, I can ask if I can download the files.

Uh... not really, it took me literally hours to upload those files. I've got such a slow upload speed where I live. 3kB/s apparently. I can guarantee you (yet again) that they are malware free. Do you have a mobile internet connection or something?

No, it's just that my computer currently has no virus protection so I'm just being a bit wary. XD

I understand, though, how long it takes you to upload those files, though, so I'll ask if I can download them.

Ask whom? You need to ask permission from your parents to download the files?  tongue

It's a family computer.  tongue  And it's on the verge of collapsing if it gets infected by a single virus. XD

Right. Won't it be easier to get a separate computer for yourself? And anti-virus software is easily found, so why don't you get one?  smile

I recommend Avast. It's the best free Antivirus. Avira makes annoying upgrade popups  tongue

And I didn't get a separate computer until less than a year ago.

Really? I've been using my own for years. Anyway, if you say so, i suppose going for Avast is the best option, if it really is the best there is.

We seriously need a drummer. Maybe we can put it in our sigs so it is visible on all forums categories and topics?

Well, that's not a bad idea.  smile

I myself have 90% of my posts on my own threads (though I have a lot of posts, they tend to be on my own topics since they are band-related or to do with my videogames that usually attract a lot of attention). Plus, I don't like to spam on various other threads. So it may not be too effective if I insert a 'Drummer Wanted' sig since the only people likely to see it are my band mates.

And I may be 16, but I've had my own computer since I was 8.  tongue
