Suggestion for final version of Scratch 1.4

I have the preliminary version of scratch 1.4 and so far things are great! The new features are nicely presented, the UI got better, and there are some new blocks which will make programing way more easier. The only thing that I currently think could get some help is the camera feature. When you do not have a camera it goes pitch black and if you put it to take a picture when you do not have a camera it will think yoou are taking an actual picture and make the pitch black a sprite. I think maybe for the final version of scratch 1.4 there should be some sort of process of checking if you have a camera or not and if you don't it will say something like this "Sorry you do not have a connected camera/webcam. Please connect one to your computer to use this feature".
I think that will be better because then it will be more visible that you need a camera to use that feature. What do you guys think about this?

Woo, even better minecraft clone! | I feel that programming is better than animation, because you can interact with games but not animations.

For the camera? I think we need just to get the basic camera before we add effects to the camera.

I'd love to see blocks to turn strings to lower and upper case. Most programming languages with string handling have that feature.

I am new so I guess I'll have to learn what you mean. Sorry about that!
