Re: Scratch Writers

I'll join. Lemme find something that's good.
-
I guess that this is okay:

There lived a girl (whose name was, of course, Lilian) lying in her bed in a luxurious room. Her pillow was soft and her bedsheets softer, but one thing prevented her from sleeping.
Soon though, she felt herself falling deeper and deeper into the arms of the Sandman.
.
Her dreams should’ve been of rose blossoms and rainbows. They always were before. But since the last week she’d had nightmares.
Nightmares; flashes of her mother’s death, her father’s rejection. They were too much to bear, even for a girl of eleven as she was.

It was an experiment in writing Victoriana style.

Re: Scratch Writers

I would like an acount! Here is a sample of my writing:

Katlin elocin just wants be a normal, average 5th grader. This is a thought she's had ever sinse second grade when she found out she had a learning chalenge called
dyslexia. The only one of Katlin's teachers that seems to understand her is Ms.hopsin, her P.E teacher. Katlin knows she has to find away to show her teachers that she's not the brainless girl they think she is. But how?

Re: Scratch Writers

How about..

Different. A word that haunted Anna like a memory from the past. Yet it was not in the past. She was living it out, day by day. Ever since Kindergarten, Anna had teachers telling her just how smart she really was. She knew it was okay to be smart. In fact, It wasn't until 5th grade that she realized how different she really was.

"And then if you subtract a negative number from another negative number-"
"Hold on, Anna!"
"Huh?"
"I didn't get that at all."
"Oh. Would you like me to repeat it for you?"
"Uh, no thanks."
"Okay."

That's all I have right now. I just started it, and i probably won't finish it.

What 5th grader can't do that?

We didn't get to that lesson this year, and frankly the kids in my class would hate that kind of math. (Anna is based off of me)

Rule of thumb = base NO characters on yourself unless you have an objective view of your life somehow.

It will come off narcissistic.

That is basic 5th grade math, really
In fact we may have even started to preview it in fourth grade
To clearly portray Anna's oh-so-amazing genius she she should be doing like
High school math or something

OK so it wasn't that great. I get it. I had to come up with it on the spot, and during the summer, I'm not too much of a math-head. Except the countdown to my birthday, (ten days to go!) I haven't done much math lately oh, and maybe you'd be interested in a seasonal poem that placed 2nd in a fair?

yeah, I know. It's supposed to be based off me then someone told me not to base characters off myself but it's really hard to think of what I know about math because its summer vacation and I'm starting middle school next year but I'm only turning 11 this summer and honestly I  could be going to 7th grade but mom kept me from skipping a grade. (run-on sentences... AAAAAAH!)

Don't let middle school stress you out.

As long as you can find stuff in your locker in 4 minutes and get to class you have nothing else to worry about except older kids picking on you.

that's what's nice about our school. We don't have lockers. we bring our bags with all our school supplies in them to the side of the cafeteria that has no tables. and older kids at our school are pretty nice. Sure, there's the weird ones, but not really any mean kids
