If you want your project to be popular, that's what the forums are for, I advertised mine and 2 months later I got 1500 views. Some projects might be 'not good' as in spam or inappropriate things, exposed to children of all ages on the front page.

I know. I have really cool projects and want them on the front page. Most of my projects just have 10 views in one day.

Depends on who you are, the famous get like 250 a day, the famous get like 1 or less

I do not support. The front page only has appropriate projects. Adding this raises a problem: What if the name or the picture is bad, repelling people to view? That would cause quite a few projects that are inappropriate to reach the front page.
