You mean it won't support pixel art? That's ridiculous, how can something not support pixel art?

Sorry but you can kind of already do this, just create a pixel square in paint editor

Well, when we move our tools using mouse pointer in scratch paint, the position will always be upper left corner of a pixel which is perfect for Pixel art. However, it can be really annoying to use because of this, the transparent grey&white pattern and the palette.

Paint's the worst possible paint editor. The grey and white thing is universal so if you ever move onto Gimp or Photoshop you'll find that there is a grey and white background for transparentness. I'm sure if hot pink and forest green had caught on as the universal symbols for transparentness the Scratch team would use that.
Anyway, at the original idea; I don't really see the point. I much prefer vector editors, as you can create pixel art in there anyway.
