What does the affirm button for tags do?

Title says it all.

It makes the tag larger for each person that clicks it.

Re: What does the affirm button for tags do?

I honestly don't know what it does. It doesn't seem to affect search results or anything. All people use it for is like "press [+] if you like lasagna" or something.

So what is its purpose? Besides annoying people with ”press [+] for a loveit”.

Re: What does the affirm button for tags do?

If there is a strongly related tag to a project you can [+] it.

Re: What does the affirm button for tags do?

I think the purpose is to show that you agree that it's a valid tag.
Say, for example, that a shooting project was tagged with "shooter". If you [+] the tag, you're saying that it is indeed a shooter, telling the site to display it as a more relevant project when searching for shooter.

At least, that's how it's supposed to work...  tongue

Yup, just like how you might +1 a post in the forums if you agreed with it.  smile

Re: What does the affirm button for tags do?

Also, under the "Projects" tab, you can look at indivudual tagged projects (or somewhere)...

That's how it's meant to be used. Now it's just like "Press [+] if you like pie" and stuff.  tongue
