Re: Directv vs Viacom forum

Here is the thing i wrote on the forum about the issue:

July 10th 2012 at midnight EST all the channels owned by viacom went down on Directv, (all nickolodeon channels, BET, MTV, VH1, Spike, TV land, and many other channels (17 in total not counting the HD versions)) The reason for this is Viacom Demanded for a increase of pay, the increase was 30% more for all the same exact channels that you used to watch and enjoy an estimated 1 billion extra dollars pay to Viacom for all Directv subscribers put together what this means is Viacom is trying to take advantage of you to make you pay more money for the same exact stuff including Directv refused causing a several month dispute up to Viacom threatning to remove all the channels on their network until Directv accepted the 30% increase but Directv stood strong and promptly refused the outragous increase again so Viacom put up commercials saying that Directv is planning to remove the channels from the viewers and that you should call the Directv customer service number to stop them from taking them away. This is not true Directv did not remove the channels Viacom forced Directv to remove the channels from the service so it was not directv taking away the shows it was Viacom. Hopefully Directv can work out an agreement with Viacom to put the shows back on the air while keeping a low price but right now its a no win situation for you, Directv, and Viacom.

Re: Directv vs Viacom forum

I am also expecting this to be over quickly since Viacom just lost 20 million people in ratings by shutting down access to their networks on DTV so they won't make nearly as much money so in the end (probably a couple days) then Viacom will come crawling back to Directv and everything will go back to the way it was.
