if the missing letters were "am" then i would agree that it should be censored. What i would do is just flag it.

It's the other d. The one with an m in it.
Dude, necropost. You shouldn't reply to topics whose last reply is older than 1 month.

In my opinion, putting asterisks in a swear doesn't make it any more appropriate

I'm afraid I'll have to agree, since people can easily fill in the blanks. In the occasion of this word though, whether or not it's bad depends on the context, but it's usually bad in this day and age.

What would you suggest be put instead then? I agree, but there's not really anything which is better.

You could use synonyms or alternate versions. Like darn, heck, stuff, rear end.

Uhh, you practically just posted what the word was ._.
Actually, I didn't. A dam is a barrier to obstruct the flow of water, especially one of earth, masonry, etc., built across a stream or river.

But what about... Other words?

Maybe the censorship didn't effect comments posted before it went into effect?
I'm pretty sure it does... Grr it's so hard to put into words why I think that. But like, I think the way it works is that it "writes out" the page, then searches it for any words that are on the censor list, and then replaces them. I realise that didn't make any sense, but it's one of those things where it's hard to explain
On the forums, that's how it works, but in comments, it only checks at the posting time. And at the posting time, the censor might not have been put into place.
Just flag these types if comments.
