Lol, don't worry, you'll have the Scratcher rank soon and it'll only be 60 seconds. That's there to prevent spam, it's a pretty common thing on forums.
To get images underneath your posts you need to edit your signature. However, you still have the New Scratcher rank, and New Scratchers can't have signatures. Again, that's to prevent spam.

It's not automatic, you need to be upgraded by the ST*.
You need to upload projects, and be active on the main site** and forums***.
* I'm not very sure.
** Comment on projects and such.
*** Main site is more important.
