Importing .png

When I import a .png to scratch, the transparency becomes white. That is bad for sprites that are white, or have translucent pixels. Is there any way to fix this?

Re: Importing .png

That never happens to me when I import .png. Maybe this should be put in Bugs/Glitches.

Maybe it's my image editor, or perhaps my Scratch. I use GIMP 2.8, what do you use to make custom sprites?

All that money spent on proprietary software. :'(

This post sums up the problem:

Scratch doesn't support alpha. It can do 0% transparency or 100%, but nothing in between. In my experience, GIMP's transparency is like 95% alpha, which Scratch rounds... down.
