I seem to have noticed this as well, it's getting difficult to track recent remixes. I wonder what's going on.

There were some problems with remixes in the recent release...hopefully fixed now. Please post here if you continue to have problems. Thanks!

When people use animations, if they get it into their project via import, it doesn't say "based on".

That issue or feature (I'm not sure which it is) has been around for a very long time. Let me ask if it can be addressed.
