They said the pricing will be very reasonable. Nintendo have learnt their lessons with the 3DS: not to launch with a high price and drop it later. So it's probably going to cost around £200 if you ask me.

Bump
I like how Nintendo is thinking outside the box and adding features their competetors do not have (ex: Playing your game when the TV is being used for something else).
Not to mention that its in Full HD (Ok, I guess they are late, but still.)

The GamePad is the best - a touchscreen, camera, full control inputs etc. They've almost made a DS! I quite like the NFC idea - to get a special item in your inventory, buy the physical thing then place it on the GamePad.

I hope it's for around £200. according to Nintendo, it's gonna come out in 'The Holidays'. When's that?!?! anyone want to hazard a guess?

I've heard it should come out on 12/21/2012. People think the world will end on 12/21/2012...
Nice one there, Mayans.

Ok, back on topic...
Will the Wii U have the normal, original, wii remotes? Does anyone know? I was basing my whole argument of Nintendo not knowing what games to have on their console on the remotes, I'm wondering if it's still valid with the Wii U.
They will be compatible with the console. I'm not sure if they will be packed-in.

I'm pretty sure that it won't come out. The whole point of launching it during the holiday season is so that people will buy it as a gift for their loved ones. In this case, 4 days doesn't leave much breathing room for the most popular holiday (Christmas). 5 days for Kwanza isn't much either, and Hanukkah has already passed at that point.
My guess? Late November, probably Black Friday.

I was actually sort of considering buing a Wii until the U came out, I don't like the idea at all, so I think I'll stick to iPad gaming.

*cough* iPad gaming really doesn't approach console gaming in quality *cough*
Man, that sure was a big cough.
BUT WAIT?
You don't like the Wii U idea . . . which is essentially an iPad made for the sole purpose OF gaming and can connect to the TV?

Could you explain why you "hate the idea"?
I don't see any reason to hate a new form of gaming on principle.

It's funny that people are hating it when it hasn't even came out yet.

you can hate the idea behind a product before it comes out but not the product itself

Yeah but like, there's not anything morally wrong with the Wii U so I don't understand.

Actually, they aren't late.
The PS3 and Xbox 360 were HD, but they only supported 720p on most games (very few were 1080p)
The Wii U will support 1080p on all of it's games.
Get it?
