Can someone review my level game (click the banner in my sig)? I think I've asked before. Anyone can review it (except Borrego6165, who already has elsewhere).
Originality: 10/10
This is a very original game! I have never really seen anybody make such brain breakage puzzle!
Length: 10/10
The length is great, it's excellent for someone who is bored on summer holiday (me!), though if you continue to make the game longer, it might get too boring, but continue to fix glitches!
Graphics: 14/15
Some levels don't have the best graphics, but by the time Scratch 2.0 comes out, I'm sure you can fix that! But most of the levels have great graphics and sprites fit the backgrounds!
Control: 4/5
Sometimes, it is possible that the question doesn't show or game doesn't go to next level after you click the right keys! But still, the game has a not too complex or simple solution to go the next level!
Programming: 18/20
You have LOTS of scripts! That makes me want to play the game more and more, just to see where all the work goes to! Though, it could use some cleaning! The big amount of scripts, sprites and music makes the game lag too much, also that they're are quite long! maybe if you clean the scripts fix the glitches, this criteria would be perfect!
Layout: 9/10
You have a title screen, continue and unlockables that are organized, though sometimes you get buttons like mini game on the screen when you click resume or credits.
Sound: 9/10
You have a great taste in music and fits the game really well, but it gets annoying, so I had to turn the sound off
Addictiveness: 9/10
The game is addicting, but it gets really hard and as you try harder and harder, you slightly start to lose interest. Even that, I think everyone (but not haters) will love your project! I didn't lose interest because of the hardcore difficulty, but because of the glitches, that it does't get me to the next level and I ended up forgetting that password, so I stopped, I might continue later!
Other: 10/10
You have a great title page and others, such as unlockables and credits! It's great how you use advertisements to help others gain popularity! I also love the way that the levels are quite unique and if they are quite the same they are more difficult, like level 1 and 2!

YOU Review!

Scoring Justification 6/10 There seems to be a lack of reasoning for certain games scoring so high. Also, your reviews not being educational enough. Instead of providing scratchers with lots of improvement tips where they are actually necessary, they just provide quite vague feedback, and fail to draw upon areas which were in need of changing. Personally, I think they are too nice and I worry that scratchers are getting told what they want to hear, meaning that they will not learn anything.
Scoring System 2/5 It's not very good, because there are so many categories which are un-balanced (length would get a player 10 points!) that it makes some games appear better than others which are actually of higher quality. A very short but special project could be seen as bad because of simple things like length and layout which affect the overall score so much. The issue with programming being so high is that the projects which got 20/20 do not look complicated enough to get the full 20. The full 20 should have streams of lists and variables, with a glitch-less system and to showcase a complicated game. Or perhaps, it's the simplicity might get it points, but the boundary should be 15, and to not offend the creator you would say "as nice as your simple game is, rules are that no simple game can score higher than 15 in programming. So you still won maximum points for a simple game!" So, categories such as length should be out of 3 or 5. Others, like addictiveness should remain the same. Also, how come tutorials get rated in the same categories as a shooting game for example? How can anybody give a tutorial 10/10 for addictiveness? Clearly you need new categories for each type of project.
Originality 5/5 This is a very original idea by using many people to review it! It's a shame you could not find the right staff who would tell the truth about the projects.
Overall Experience 7/10 It's a cool and unique reviewing thread. However, perhaps if the name of the projects, rather than just the creator's names were on the front page, and that broken links were deleted. Also, how is a player meant to find the review for a project?
TOTAL 20/30 It's a unique thread which has it's good sides, but the lack of control over fair scoring bring this down.@scoring system: I made a new scoring system and I will use this until coolscruff sees it and maybe I will regrade all the games, because I could see some are scoring too low and most too high. I recently saw your reviewer and might have it that way (don't worry, when coolscruff comes back I will ask to give you credit in the main post), you have a good way that you say how to improve in every criteria and compliment them aswell. Thank you for the review, I will try my best to improve!
Look at how I graded benjami2's level game to see how the new grading system is!

Most of the glitches will be fixed in Scratch 2.0. The reason you sometimes don't get moved on even when you type the correct thing is because of script lag (level 31 is the worst).
Oh right! forgot overall!

you changed the grading system? Benjamin2's looks the same to me i thought you were goanna change the categories, and make the scores lower for some of the criteria.

Addictiveness 9/10 It seriously makes you want to continue playing, but the lack of levels working online put you off playing, as many cannot be bothered to download it.
Programming 7/10 The programming is simple and effective, but it loses points on not working online properly.
Graphics 6/10 1 point above average.
Originality 4/5 It's like the idiot test, but the many features make this original.
Ease of Use 3/5 Whilst playing is simple, the complicated menu is too overwhelming, perhaps a menu which leads to sub-menus would be better? Plus, the pop-ups that appear block some of the buttons occasionally.
Difficulty 5/5 It's spot on. It starts easy, then gets harder.
Sound 2/5 There are no sound effects, and the music became very repetitive. Still, the music was good enough to last the first few loops.
Overall Experience 40/50 It doesn't work online, but it works brilliantly offline. However, there are glitches where if you click PLAY GAME to early, some of the menu buttons will not hide. However, this is a game that needs tweaking rather than mass-changing, so don't worry.
TOTAL 76/100
I totally respect you giving him 93 because that's your opinion, and I'm glad that there's a mixture of reviewers (because it would be horrible if everyone was picky like me). However, it's the way you score them that makes it more likely to be higher. You see, the more criteria you have, the more likely the creator will score higher, even if they do badly in each one. My review looks at 6 criteria (addictiveness/ programming/ graphics/ ease of use/ sound/ overall), so a bad game would get 1 point in each and total up 6 points out of 100. Yours is based on 9 criteria, so the same project would get 9 points on your review. The problem with having so many criteria is that it's hard to distinguish between the good and the bad because there is so much different criteria to boost. 9 may not sound like much, but when the creator gets 20 in one of the 9 and 10 points in about 3 other criteria, that's when it escalates.

Geometry field (review 2)
Originality: 9/10
The game is very unique and awesome! But still it is another mouse pointer shooter game!
Graphics: 9/10
The game has really good graphics, but it ends up spazzing with mobs and become too bright.
Programming: 9/10
Your AI is very accurate and not many glitches, but it starts to lag a lot and when you're shooting, you don't go towards mouse pointer.
Sound: 8/10
The ambience is fitting and the sounds sound real, yet all at the same time, when you're getting hit by mobs and firing everything at the same time, it gets really annoying.
Difficulty (6/10), length (10/10) and control (9/10): 8/10
The game after you have updated it is much harder! Which killed some of the points. Though it is still possible, I don't know until the end, because I haven't spent the longest amount of time on the game. Yet it is great how you have it from easier to harder. The length is perfect like always, it's great to spend your time on. The new controls has improved and is much easier to move around, but it also ends up spazzing when you click like 3 buttons at the same time!
Extra points I'd give you: 41/50
Your game is very fun, but you expected the full marks (didn't you? jkjk), I didn't give you less points of that, it's that I improved the grading system and still is improving. I was a bit too soft for grading, that's why you got such high marks! But still, even now it's some high marks!

Thanks.
Path:
Originality: 8/10
Your game is basically a maze game, but has a tweak with the "can't cross your own path twice" rule and contains the little yellow "keys" to get the final treasure. The texture pack is also quite unexpected.
Graphics: 9/10
The graphics look ok in the game, but the grid thing for when you click start is a bit annoying, maybe you could speed it up?. The extra texture packs are AWESOME!
Programming: 9/10
I love how you made the actual grid programming and a reader. Great choice to have a code to skip to that level. I took 1 point due to not working well online.
Sound: 4/10
You could have added music and more sounds, still the sour are fitting to its place.
Difficulty (6/10), length (10/10), controls (8/10): 8/10
Your game ended up being to easy and the difficulty wasn't getting harder as I proceeded, that needs to be improved, but anyway the difficulty gets increased as you have to think to where you have to go, maybe you could add a timer? The length is great, not too long and not too short. The controls were simple, but it took to long, so I got a bit bored of that.
Extra points I'd give: 39/50
You have a great game, but it took me quite a long time to get from 1 point to another, so maybe add acceleration? Still the game is very good and fix the problem playing it online or at least say download for best experience in the project notes, because I am the first one to download the project.

Originality: 8/10
The game's storyline is very unique, but fighting with other spectra is a bit like Pokemon, with a tweaks in it. The game contains lots of new elements and it is a bit like any other RPG.
Graphics: 9/10
The graphics are really good and accurate, but the scroller sometimes doesn't work the way it supposed to and you can see the outline. Also at first I did't realize what the stairs were, maybe you could improve that.
Programming: 9/10
Spectrum includes complex programming, but you could improve where the spectra are found, I end up having to walk 10 meters to find the next one and the scroller could have some improvement listed in the graphics part.
Sound: 6/10
I understand that Spectrum doesn't have much sounds because of the limited scratch space, you could try compressing as much as you can and reduce space in Spectrum 2.
Difficulty (8/10), length (10/10), control (9/10): 9/10
Difficulty is fine, but it is annoying to fight so many spectra and I lose hp quickly. Overall it is a ok difficulty merging from very easy to harder and harder. For the difficulty, maybe you could add some small shops, where you could buy spectra or something and food ad drinks, to heal, also for the spectra to heal. The length is good, it is a long game, that's what's good about it. I still cannot find the nuclear plant though. Control is good, maybe a bit too slow and is hard to find places.
Extra points I'd give you: 45/50
Your game is very good, unique, long and hard, use the criticism I gave you in each criteria to improve. This maybe is the longest review I gave.

Oh! Thanks!
Originality: 7/10
It is an original idea of making it 3d and first person, but it's still minecraft, which makes you lose some points here.
Graphics: 7/10
The graphics are ok, but not the best, if the slimes are lined up to each other, sometimes one of the slime is visible in the middle of it. The 3d ground when turning and walking, the ground is a bit funny.
Programming: 8/10
All of the problems listed in Graphics could be improved in programming, it's really good that it's 3d and gained a few points. There's another problem, from each side you look at a slime, they always look at you and they don't move. You could add lots of new elements such as slime dying, seeing the sides of the slimes and more mobs.
Sound: 3/10
There are almost no sounds and I don't see a reason for them not to, the sounds of the foot stepping is not enough.
Difficulty (9/10), length (4/10), control (7/10): 7/10
Difficulty is good, I did't have any problems walking up to the slimes and hitting, though it is a bit too easy, you should give them an AI and have them either attack or run away. The game lacks length, it is a pretty boring and short. The control of the game is easy though there are lots of problems with the scrolling and the slimes.
Extra points I'd give you: 33/50
Your game is basically a base to make a game, which in your case is mine craft, but it's lacking lots of things. If you add anything new, you can always ask for a second review.

these are tougher indeed! When scratch 2.0 comes out there's goanna be tough competition the issue is that this seems to be ExtremelyGamer's reviewer, not ANYONE's reviewer, perhaps if you co-worked on mine so that each person who submits a project gets two reviews, one from each of us. Then we'll give them an average score of the two reviews! I don't see the point of you working hard for someone who is never here. Join the orange side Skywalker, and you will fulfil your destiny.
