In Scratch, I realized that if you make a sprite with the rainbow-like thing in the scratch sprite editor (dunno what it is called, where you can pick many different colors), with a darker shade/lighter shade of a color, scratch still counts it as the color without the shade, (when your sensing colors). I want to make my text a darker shade of gray, but not black. The costumes that Scratch provides you are outlined with this type of color. I tried to copy that color onto text (with the eyedropper thing), but it doesn't work. Is there a way to do this?
Do I have to make the sprite in a different program?

Use the grab screen region method by right clicking on the stage and select the region you want to copy, then edit it and do the gradient. It will no longer be text, just like a screenshot.

No, but unfortunately you can only have 1 text object per costume. If you want another costume, just duplicate it and go into the text editor again.
Eh....that's not my question lol
