Okay, i have this annoying glitch with the messaging system (Below your username theres a bar saying "You have ### messages")
When i receive a comment- the message notifier stays on the previous number and doesn't update even if i refresh the page.
I tested it by posting a comment using my test account- then quickly logging out- then logging in with my normal account.

Just some server side caching, which means it takes a few minutes to update. It can make a chat in the comments rather difficult though.

Technical limitation. Please wait. Same problem on Wikipedia: Protection takes several hours to turn on.
In 2012, scientists at the LHC discovered the Higgs boson, which explains the source of the masses of the W+, W-, and Z bosons, as well as fermions.Offline
Yeah, you have to wait for it to update.

It's due to the server slowing down because people don't delete their messages. Andresmh posted a topic a while back telling people to delete their messages because it slows the server down, but people like to keep them to see how many they've had. Some people have 100,000 undeleted messages.

I always delete my messages once i have read them, i have seen projects saying i have over 9000 messages and that really annoys me. i totally agree with you.
