Ah. Okay, so once I can start thinking this through, then I can host the server! Maybe it could have only nine players in the challenge? And they can log off and come back on at any time, but when they die, they get banned?

I know the ban part is kind of harsh, but unfortunately, with the UltraHardcore plugin, it's the only way. But still, after the challenge is over, I could hold another one a little bit later after that.

I hate lava. And badly placed diamonds. I was mining for diamonds next to lava [where diamonds unfortunately are very common] and I found some 

I made sure that there was no lava on any of it's sides or below. Then I mined it.

I accidentally broke a block that let lava pouring in. I quickly grabbed my diamond and tried to place some water, but it turned into cobble and I was right clicking so much that I emptied my water, got some lava, and ended up pouring it on the block above my head. I screamed like a little girl, and I don't know how I managed, but I got out of the lava. I was on some obsidian now. I burned to death.

I respawned and quickly scampered back into the cave, and my stuff was splattered everywhere. My sword over there, my pick over there, my bread up there...

...and my diamonds RIGHT NEXT TO THE LAVA. The items had landed RIGHT ON THE EDGE of the obsidian block.

But hey, now I have a diamond pick 

oh and i like the ultrahardcore server idea

I'll have a link to pictures of a castle I'm making when it's done, but I think I made the height a bit excessive in comparison to it's width...

Like, a sort of hardcore server. Hard Mode, and if you die, you don't drop your stuff. It's lost forever. It'd be Factions, PVP on, and grief-friendly.

I might shut down CupcakeCraft Creative for a day or two sometime and do that.

you dont build in pvp
unless its like teams in which case you have to have a base and people who defend those building the base

Is there any way to transfer villagers long distance? I'm making preparations for 1.3, and I don't want to have to secure a village from monsters and make an outpost.

Okay guys, I'm gonna go through with the UltraHardcore server idea once I get a good amount of support for the idea. Tell me if you like the idea or not--I'll run through it again.

Basically, it's a hardcore challenge, in multiplayer. Nine players enter, and survive in the regular way they do in singleplayer hardcore mode. If they die, then they are banned (I know, sort of harsh) from the server until the challenge has ended and one victorious players wins. Also, PVP is allowed, so you can kill off other players if you manage to find them. There's one twist though--zero health regens, even at full hunger.

Tell me your feedback--if people like it, I'll make the server, and if they don't, then I won't.
