I totally agree with y... Bitter. Lightning Theif is a terrible book. It's great for a first read, but on reread/closer inspection the prose falls apart and the plot starts to be rehashed if you know your myths.

Rick Riordan really just isn't a very good author. Not only does he take pretty much everything out of Greek mythology (each book focuses on ripping off a different one, with miniature ripoffs inside of them), but he even uses the same plot device in every book.
