Firstly, thanks for changing your sig. I believe all band members have updated their sigs now.

jslomba, I know you checked this topic out to change your sig, so how's the progress on drums for the songs?

Anyway, Lola I need to talk to you about this score of mine I linked you to earlier. It is important you post actively on this thread at the moment so I can sort out the arrangements for the song. It is pretty much complete save for the female interlude at the end. As you may have noticed, it's our first duet for a female and male singer (of course you will be singing the former and either hpotter or I the latter, since I don't think you'd like to sing this one, techno  tongue ).

I need lyric ideas to work on the second verse at the moment for both the male and female vocalists (eight bars each) and possibly the male interlude (still left incomplete). If you have any suggestions for words, feel free to post them on this thread. It must follow the rhythm and meter of the first verse. And if you do think up a melody for the female interlude, please feel free to post.

I should in any case be done transcribing the song completely by around next week (still not certain as I'm going on vacation), and if so, when do you think you can record? Have you got that new mic of your's?

Nope, I saw he had updated his the very day I uploaded them.  tongue

BTW, I've nearly finished tracnscribing another song. This is well on track to being a full-length album.  big_smile

Re: Frozen Coco - The Online Rock Band

With the songs we have right now, I'd say it's already a full length album... We could even save songs for a later release if we felt like it  tongue

I need to finish transcribing my own songs... I don't really have many ideas for the Memories II remake, but I came up with something else we could use, I'll also start notating it this Thursday.

Yeah, some of these will definitely have to be released in the album after the next...  tongue

Sorry, maybe my memory's failing me, but why is it called 'Memories II'? (EDIT: lol, unintentional pun; just realised) Could you link me to the first one?

Re: Frozen Coco - The Online Rock Band

The first one was in my first song pack. It's horrendous, I'd rather not link to it.  tongue

"Memories II" was another song in the 7th of said Song Packs, released more than two years ago. This one is a remake of that song. I'm considering naming it either just "Memories", or naming it "Memories III" for the sake of continuity, and as an homage to the other two incarnations of it.

Oh, right.  In my opinion, you should just title the song "Memories", dicarding the homage to the previous incarnations, since outsiders won't really understand the relevance of the "II" or "III".  tongue

Is "Memories II" similar to the one in the first song pack? If not, does it share the same name of its predecessor because it possesses a similar theme to the "horrendous" one?

Re: Frozen Coco - The Online Rock Band

Techno, here's a song I started transcribing (not the nearly complete one I mentioned earlier. It is a piano ballad and I am still missing a decent chorus, so I figured I could maybe do with some of your help here. You may add a pre-chorus, interlude or any other chord variations to the song; I'm not specific about this one.

Also, I remember you mentioning that you may edit this score when you have the time. Do you suppose you could edit it with the ideas you had in mind too, please? I'd be grateful if you could because I am in a deadlock for both songs at the moment; I haven't a clue on how to continue them despite reasonable effort. Again, I'm not so specific about the structure. You can do whatever you want to it.

You may notice that both songs are transcribed under a new Noteflight account because I ran out of scores on the previous one. I am going on holiday next week (the first of many during my three month break), so I won't have a piano or guitar to compose with (I may take my acoustic) and certainly won't have time to transcribe.

I'd be glad if you could help.  smile

All the songs we've done are already up there. All my songs posted up are complete and ready for recording. Techno's Out of the Possible is ready and his 'smooth' song and 'first sad, later catchy' are ready too. That's about it.

Thought so, people wouldn't understand why is the III there and just "Memories" looks like a nicer title.

Memories II isn't even similar to the first. But both are meant to be about the same theme, iirc.

Mic out of stock in local Argos > sad  But I'll record anyway. Have already got recorded the melody, but harmony needs working on.

Talking about that... Our song list is way too cluttered - we should start thinking which songs to leave off, to eventually decide on a definite order for the album.

I also just finished the other 2 solos in my own songs:

Second solo in "funky" song (also without the delay effect in case DIY feels like adding another sort of delay or other effects)
"Smooth" song solo (without delay)

We definitely should not scrap off some of the songs from the list just yet. We can do that once we've completely finished a particular song, which is why I keep urging everyone to record as soon as possible without delaying us.  hmm

The quality of the song will only be determined by the final mix, so I propose we don't leave out any as some songs that we think may not be good could end up being a great song.  cool

Glad to see you've finally recorded your tracks. Make sure that you record the two piano ballad tracks soon so that I can mix those too since I've done my tracks and techno's done his.  smile

As for a 10-12 song album, we don't need to restrict ourselves; if we're flooding with song ideas, there is no harm in raising the restriction.

Great!  big_smile  In my opinion, the ones with the delay sound pretty good so we can use those.

Just out of interest, have you done a raw mix of some sort for any of your songs?  tongue

Good point, how a song is mixed and how it sounds in real instruments can really change one's view of it. I hadn't thought of it that way  yikes

No. Maybe I should just to know how a particular song sounds, but I don't know what songs have all/most of their tracks recorded currently.

(If I may input something?)

On your Untitled Duet Ballad in G, the beginning doesn't really suit the rest of the song, like the rest of the song is really structural, but the beginning is syncopated, and IMHO doesn't really suit the happy following of the verse.  tongue

Yeah, that is good. Try to mix and see what you make of it. That's what I usually do.

The song is all about contrast, so the variations suit it really well.
