I still don't get why you'd even care about the screen, especially because there aren't really any videos at that resolution. I mean for large pictures, sure it might be cool, but it'd have to be pretty big and people don't really just sit and stare at pictures anyway

I imagine it would be pretty useful when editing said huge images,

Why am I bothered by the fact everything Apple makes lately seems to be ridicolously thin?  tongue

EDIT: The fact that it's apparently Flash-based is also quite interesting, I never thought a computer would run faster with it's architecture based on it.  tongue

Not Flash-based, flash-based. Flash memory, I believe

They call it flash memory because SSDs are too mainstream.

Flash memory is very stable, and much safer than HDDs.

Of course, it's blisteringly fast. Like, really fast. And married with that i7 processor and awesome graphics... oh no  tongue

I look forward to seeing some benchmarks from that thing  lol

Heck, I look forward to benchmarks of the new Air. Last year's Sandy Bridge refresh ensured that it had a decent processor, but this year's refresh has an even better processor, as well as removing the only limitations to my wanting an air: small RAM and SSD options. Now I think it's truly a legitimate primary computer.

Eh, I'd rather stick with my iPad (3rd gen). Though the new MacBook does look cool.

Yea... SSD storage is awesome :3

@banana: The iPad 3 is awesome, but I'd rather have the MBP Retina.

Hm, that's good :3

Do we agree then, that this is the best display ever put on a laptop? (Just thinking of things we can agree on  tongue )

I don't really know; I don't have much experience with owning laptops and I don't like using them very much.

I prefer desktops as well, but this laptop is going to be an exception... probably because screen resolution is basically the only reason I prefer desktop computers  tongue

Personally I prefer laptops for all but the most demanding purposes such as serious gaming, professional video rendering, etc. For all my purposes, (Minecraft, TF2, Portal 2 are the maximum uses) I can operate perfectly fine on a portable laptop with integrated graphics.

I prefer desktops just because they're not so small and compact.

I don't find that size matters. As long as I can see what is says I'm fine.

I just don't really like how the keyboard is so compact on laptops.

Oh the keyboard. Yeah, I can understand that. But I get used to it and I tend to find desktop ones are too sticky-outty. O.o Probably just the ones I've tried.
