Current question-
Can somebody link me a video tutorial of how to change the Sparks brush color?

Sorry, this is not a video, but it explains it well.

Since the Sparks brush is a multi-color brush, to change its colors you would need to edit the brush as an image and then save that image as a new brush.
[*:2qpxniq8] Right-click on the brush in the Brushes dialog and select the "Open brush as image" option
[*:2qpxniq8] Make your changes to the image -- perhaps using "Colors->Hue/Saturation" to change the color (Sparks is an animated brush so you will have to change all of the layers)
[*:2qpxniq8] Open the "Save as..." dialog and save the brush with a .gih extension in your user's brushes folder.
[*:2qpxniq8] A dialog will appear asking about some animated brush options, just click OK
[*:2qpxniq8] Refresh your brushes in the Brushes dialog

Here is the simplest possible explanation.
1. Select the sparks tool and click on the box with the color you are using (the foreground color). Set it to your desired color.
2. Then click on the box behind the foreground color. Set it to the same or almost the same color.
3. Under the sliders that adjust the opacity and size, there should be a few checkboxes. Check the one labeled something like "use color from gradient".
The brush should now be the colors of the two boxes. I figured his out in about five seconds - without a video.
(edit: also, the only video I could find explaining anything even close to this was in SpanIsh or something.)
