Anything happening? Just thought I'd give us a post to get us out of page 10. I had to run a search to find our topic!
Not with me. In the moment I'm a bit busy. Do you want to make the next update or wait until I find the time for it?

Hello guys, I would like to announce that I can no longer be the leader of this project, or even be apart of it for that matter. I don't really spend much time on scratch anymore; I think I've 'outgrown' scratch. I will be going to high school this fall, so I'm not sure how much time I would have even if I was still interested in scratch. I'm very sorry Thrystor and dbs for dissapointing you and leaving you guys hanging. I think it's clear you two are the REAL leaders. If it is still okay with you guys, I would like to make myself an 'Honorary Member' (kind of like blob8108), because I still may be able to offer my services every once in a while.
P.S. all the passwords to the accounts are the same as the dropbox password.

Is there anything I should do?
Anyone must do the shop improvement. Since I've got not that much time to do it now, feel free to try improving it according to the discussion above.

Sorry to here that you're leaving...I'm not sure how fast this collab'll go without you.

It appears that we are once again down to 4 members. I think our problem is that one person works on one thing and doesn't want anyone else updating the game in the meantime, so a lot of people are inactive. I think that we could fix this by creating projects that we can test independently of the main project and import them later. That was kind of the idea behind the shop; program now, use later. So one person could build an AI engine while another works on the scripts in the game itself, like the shop, and not have to worry about the one person updating the game while they're sill working. I think that is what we need to achieve if we want to keep 10 members active at once.
I can't wait until Scratch 2.0, when they actually have a clipboard and nobody has to worry about this kind of stuff.

Hey guys, just checking in.
When Scratch 2.0 comes out, I may be able to help you guys more.
OMG, Kamesh's account has been disabled by the Scratch Team! (Click here to see for yourself) Looks like you guys are REALLY on your own.
This was his last post (from November 2011).
RIP Kamesh's account.

For getting back on topic: Do we want to have shopping an destroying planets or do we want to have one (or even more) shops, that work independently from the planets?

I still think some planets should have their own shops, because one of the things blob8108 was talking about in the original Elite was a docking system where you can dock with a planet's space station and shop there. Each planet had different prices depending on how much agriculture and how much industrialization the planet had. When I programmed the shop I included the ability to use variables to change prices, so this wouldn't be very difficult. We'd just have to choose values for agriculture, industry, and technology for each "Shoppable" planet.

I don't know. We need to establish a leader.

We need to be assigned specific parts, so we all are working on something at one time.

Well. We all weren't that active. I was a bit busy lately. And in addition to that, I focused on other projects like the German Scratch Wiki. But now I've got time for you. It would be really sad, if this project would die out again. So let's focus on improving the shop before we go forward to the AI. Clicking on the shoppable planets is very laggy yet. trinary. You're a good programmer. Could you please make clicking on them easier? Since this is done, we could make more plants shoppable and then improve the functionality of the shop.
Greatings, dbs

If we're going to be doing anything with the mouse, we should switch the controls to wasd and maybe leave arrow keys possible, but not recommended (If you know what I mean).
