You are agent [name]. You are a spy working for the intelligence branch of the [Russian?] military. Some rumors have been passed around that the [Americans?] have obtained a new aircraft that could infiltrate and bomb Russia without any difficulty at all. You have been assigned the task of discovering if these rumors are true, find the aircraft, and disable it.
What kind of technology does the agency have in 1952?
Are we going for realistic technology, or for futuristic?
..So is this going to be another war game?

No, it's the cold war. Don't you guys know about the cold war? It was where Russia and the US were preparing for war, but never attacked. They were building up thousands of nuclear missiles. By the end of it, they had enough nukes to blow up the whole world about 6 times f I remember correctly. But nobody ever attacked. Each side was so afraid of the other side bombing them with nukes that they spent their whole time building more nukes. Around that time was when there was large amounts of spies around.

can I join? as programmer or graphics? Most of my later projects are an example of both. I can make sigs, too. I made mine.

Good point but thinking about what this game really should be originally maybe we should make this a quest sort of game and not war. Like indiana jones except it will only have the quest stuff and fighting. I'm not saying we make this indiana jones. Just the genre of action and adventure and quests.

Ok. The cold war wasn't a war though... If we made a game based on it, it would'nt be a war game.

I know I'm not part of the team yet, but I think you should be a spy.
Stupid 60 second rule.

Yeah, I know about it. Wasn't thinking, though.

Just because you are a spy doesn't mean you kill people. If it had killing I would not participate in it's creation.

Change of what is being guarded: Secret plans.
I dont know what you mean by two or three more. can you explain?
Its a good idea to be guarding secret plans instead. But what for? do we tell the player this in the first project? or he has to find out for himself?
I meant two or three other storyline options. - nevermind now - we are headed in the right direction with the secret plans, spy, etc;

well it already includes a gun. I wont go to far but the gun is already for sure in the project so possibly we can lower it a little.
The gun doesn't have to mean that it is a war story - a businessmen really, really wants something, so he hires a proffesional spy... etc;

Accepted. We will use both your graphics and programming skills.

P.S. I registered you, LiquidMetal.
Thanks a lot metal509, I'll mention this on the front page.
Also, could you rename the part at the top to mention Summer of Scratch?
If you filter out old versions, can you just put them in a separate section, so we don't lose anything?
I'll upload my stuff tomorrow, and, once we are set about the storyline, we can begin.
Also, if anyone has expertise in the sound or music areas which they haven't told me about, or know someone who does, who we might invite to this collab, please let me know!

Good idea! I'll make a subdirectory for old stuff.
Sure, I've changed the name and updated the site to include berberberber.
I've also registered zuwel as he emailed me with his requested account details.
I also found a picture on the internet and made a nice welcoming image for the site out of it.
I've moved the site to http://www.summerofscratch.site88.net/ (for personal reasons), but it is still accessible through http://wordsfree.org/andrew/scratch as it will simply redirect you, so you don't have to change the link.
Yoshiboy and berberberber, please try to email me asap at metal5090@yahoo.com so I can get you registered on the site.
One last thing -- the new host gives me 1500 MB of free space to fill up, so I'm only allowing uploads of up to 25 MB at a time. It shouldn't create problems, but let me know if it does.

Ahh, sorry guys but you'll have to work without me at least for today -- it's my sister's birthday, so once people start waking up I probably won't be on for the rest of the day.
Also, my birthday is on July 2, so I probably won't be on then either.

I love the image, nice work! On the front page, I tinyurl'd to your first site, so I'll leave it the way it is and it will redirect.
A couple suggestions:
1) add it saying logged in as %Username%? (username could be linked to your scratch user page)
2) put "Click here to go to the Summer of Scratch official collaboration thread" for the link, and make the tool-tip mention scratch.mit.edu?
3) person who submitted X project can rename that project.
4) add place to input project description, or, if you know how, just use the project notes from any submitted project.
These are just suggestions, don't spend to much time on it on any given day.
Thanks!
EDIT: also, please delete "Infinite_Xscroll_with_mappingl_beta_v_0.0.6.sb" - it is a duplicate. Also, is there some way to give me admin permissions? (renaming, etc;)?
EDIT2: Also, Infinite_Xscroll_beta_v0.0.6.sb.sb has an extra .sb - can you take that out?

Yoshiboy, when you email metal5090@yahoo.com with a user and pass for our site, I'll give you your first assignment.

If anyone could edit the following image to say scratch instead of code, that would be great. It should be in the same font. (Make sure you use the actual image - not scratch's resize.)
I already tried asking on the requests forum, but I didn't get anything useful, and we have three guys who are good at this type of thing right here, anyway.

your suggestions:
1) I'll see if I can do that. It'll be a little trickier, but I like to learn, so, it's fine! I'll give it a try
2) What do you mean? Just reword the link and add a tooltip? Done.
3) That'll be very difficult to do. I could do it, but that'll take a lot of time. I'll consider it, but I figured the file name thing was good enough. :S
4) That'll also be difficult.
your edits: done and done!
But admin permissions would also be harder.
Basically, most of your requests would require databases. I've been hard-coding the usernames and passwords into the program. LOL
It's still safe, but databases are even safer. Hmm...
Sure, I'll probably create a database. It's work, sure, but it'll be worth it if I do.
Thanks for the tips!
EDIT: I also added links to everyone's stuff on scratch.mit.edu

No, it's not written in HTML..
It's a PHP program.
