Community Moderator Question

Do community moderators do stuff on the main site, or just the forums?

Re: Community Moderator Question

They can do stuff on the main site (Their status was changed from Forum Moderator to Community Moderator a while back) but I think it's limited, they can't ban on the main site.

Re: Community Moderator Question

Are there any mods that are the other way around? (like, everything on mainsite, little on forums)

I'm pretty sure there's not.

They can temporarily censor projects, I believe, but that's only until an Admin can check it out. That's pretty much it.

I actually think they can't do anything on the main site.  Let me go look..
*looks around forums*
Here it is! (May be outdated though

EDIT: Aha!  I think i found more evidence that they don't have authority on the main site.

4. Flag comments or projects that go against the Scratch Community Guidelines

What does #4 mean? As far as I can understand, it means they have no true authority on the main website, but they have a responsibility to flag stuff that goes against the ToU

@stevetheipad: The name change was only meant to reflect that Scratch is more of a community than just forums, i think

Re: Community Moderator Question

We don't do nearly as much on the main site as on the forums, but we still have some basic moderation abilities over there - we have the option to censor any project or comment we flag that's in clear/excessive violation of Scratch's guidelines.
