Farm Sim
A BlackWhite Review
8/10 (Very Good)

Pros:
> The tutorials were fantastic. Most tutorials on Scratch are a huge blob of text I don't feel like reading. Even better, If I forget something, every tutorial is separated.
> Nice art. Looks very professional.
> Like the grid style and the whole way the game simply felt like it was made by a pro.
> Normally, Sim Games to me are boring, but this was good!

Work On:
> Fix the few bugs and glitches you have.
> Music was a bit repetitive and/or annoying.
> You have to add something to make the game more exciting. I'll think about what you should add...

TO SUM UP:
> The pros are things that many games on scratch don't have, and the negatives are just small fixes that could tidy up the game. Good work!

Re: BlackWhite Reviews Your Projects!

I'll review the original only because the preview's so short i'd have to rate it badly...

Pixel
A BlackWhite Review
7/10 (Good)

Pros:
> Nice gradient effect on the platforms.
> Catchy soundtrack.
> I like the "Boss Battle" screen idea. Maybe change the font on that?
> The feel of the game was nice. Skill was needed.  smile

Work On:
> May I ask what the health bar was at the top right corner? Can't figure that out...
> I didn't notice until after I played that you could shoot pixels. Add a "help" option on top of the "story" one.
> Having to reset the game when I died from a boss battle got annoying.
> Edit the graphics a little. Like the spikes in the first level are a little too drawn-in and not pixelated.

Great, thanks!

I'll have to disagree with you on the music - I found it quite relaxing while I was playing...besides what kind of music can you really use here lol :p I'll look around a bit anyway for something better but...

As to the more exciting thing I know what you mean. I added achievements to give a goal but it's still a very easy game with little to disrupt you. I'm considering adding possible seasonal events if I get the time like droughts/snowstorms which could make planting impossible for a season or kill all crops for example.

For the bugs: Please tell me if you found any. I've removed those that I noticed so far.

Thanks again for the great review; very informative. Also thanks for the compliments  big_smile

Hehe, great minds...

I'll work on it when I get the time and can dredge up the willpower to do it then lol - the code in that program is just plain messy sadly.

Thanks again for the review.

Estas Muerto ('These Dead')
A BlackWhite Demo Review
8/10 (Very Good)
(Demos get a weighted score, which means they get points simply for potential.)

Pros:
> Your game captures the scene it wants to capture. It certainly seems eerie.
> Great sounds and soundtrack. I really liked it how it felt that you were really crushing skulls.
> The feel of the game was nice. Skill was needed.  smile

Need To Add:
> If you're shooting for an arcade game, make the enemies harder and harder as they die more. If you're shooting for a story, make it so the enemies die after 2 deaths and you advance to the next room.
> Have different types of enemies, especially ones that require you to not just shoot them, but in special ways, special places, etc.
> Have a boss battle at the end of the game.

Cube World Beta
A BlackWhite Demo Review
7/10 (Good)
(Demos get a weighted score, which means they get points simply for potential.)

Pros:
> Good instructions at the beginning, although you might want to be able to skip them if you've already played.
> I assume this will use the cloud variable feature in Scratch 2.0, so good use of that.

Need To Add/Change:
> Don't have that 'member' thing. That's what made Club Penguin bad.
> Don't use servers, because when scratch 2.0 is out, my prediction is that even famous scratchers won't have so many people on the game at one time, they'll need separate servers.
> Add more rooms, and unless this is a glitch, there was nothing in the post office.

Re: BlackWhite Reviews Your Projects!

Thanks for the review. I'll try to incorporate this in the next version (probably coming when 2.0 comes). Yeah, the member thing is probably annoying, as well as instructions. Those will be fixed in the next version. Thanks for the review!

I gaze off into the boundless skyline, noteblock choirs playin in the sunshine, turn round pick up my sword and wield the blade that once forced evil mobs to yield, if this battle shall leave me slain, I know Herobrine still calls my name, better just take a stand, that was when I ruled the land.
