Sound Distortion

I believe it would be a very good idea to have a block that can distort sound. This would produce custom sounds making peoples projects a bit different. Also people love to make music projects so hav ing a distortion block would very useful. Ex. for those of you who play guitar, bass etc. you have prrobally heard of a sound pedal. We have image distortions on scratch so why not sound.

P.S.

I know the new sounds blocks have change tempo but my idea is different.

Re: Sound Distortion

Distortion requires access to the digital sound stream and substantial real-time computation.  Most home computers do not provide easy access to the output of the midi synthesizer, or even of the sound playback, and do not provide distortion effects for the Scratch team to connect up to.

There are computer music systems that provide these sorts of capabilities under programmer control, but they usually end up requiring the full capabilities of the CPU, so that you can't simultaneously do fancy graphics and run the Scratch interpreter.
