Post on this topic instead. I didn't realize this was a duplicate!
Hey, everybody.
A lot of people have requested that Scratch 2.0 have more key options for the "key pressed" blocks. One of the major problems is the risk that the list will get too long. As a result, a limited number of keys can be added. The ST asked that we get a prioritized list of the keys that Scratchers want. Which keys do you think are most important? Why? What is your top 5 (or 3, or 6, etc) list of keys you think should be added?

Definitely control and/or alt

1. Shift
To detect capital letters in text editors. And to help the people who make Shift (game) in scratch.
2. Control
Doesn't do as many things outside of scratch as alt, it right there in the corner of the keyboard, it feels good to press control.
3. Backspace?
Text editors, like #1
4. Escape?
I'm not exactly sure how this would be used, maybe a puzzle/adventure game (press what you need to do).
5. Delete
Reasons are similar to 3 and 4.
5. Tab
Text editors/OSs (like a focus selector)
6. Non-alphanumeric keys: ,./;'[]\-=` (not in any order)
People will be running out of keys if they need to use these.
Thats all I can think of.
