Just like Paddle2See's topic, only this is much more simpler and easier to understand.
Check out this cool project nerddownthestreet made: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/nerddow … eet/567275. It has both Windows and Mac instructions.![]()
Let's say a project won't show even though the blue Loading... bar is full. The Java Heap Memory needs to be increased.
1. Go to the Control Panel (you should know how to do this)
2. Find the Java icon and double-click it.
http://ihaveamac.comyr.com/images/scrat … /step1.PNG
3. Click on the Java tab.
http://ihaveamac.comyr.com/images/scrat … /step2.PNG
4. Click "View" under Java Applet Runtime Settings.
http://ihaveamac.comyr.com/images/scrat … /step3.PNG
5. Under Java Runtime Parameters, type -Xmx128m
http://ihaveamac.comyr.com/images/scrat … /step4.PNG
6. Click OK and restart your internet browser.
You can proabally go higher (like I put 512), but don't go overboard.
http://ihaveamac.comyr.com/images/scrat … rboard.PNG
Do not go that far.
Now try loading a project that usually couldn't load and see if it does.![]()
If you think this doesn't work for vista, go to dsdude10's post
thank you for the info

I hope you don't mind - while implementing our new sticky strategy (ITopics) in this forum, I had to edit the title of this topic a little bit. Sorry, but it had to be done

It's OK. I mean it's not destroying the title. XD

Images fixed, again. My old hosting site deleted everything on my site. I recreated the images, and uploaded them to Dropbox.

oh this is helpful, unfortunately i am looking for ways to make others able to view my projects too without having to do anything themselves. this is still cool though!
That's the situation I am in as well. Although, self hosting the projects and ScratchApplet.jar on a personal server does seem to improve the chance of the project starting...

Thank you so much! I really found this helpful! There are tens (hundreds maybe) of megabytes of storage on my computer that are being gobbled up by downloaded Scratch projects that refused to load in either Flash or Java, even after the loading bar filled up

w00t! More Java Heap Space!

arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tried doing the things you said to do but it still takes forever to load. I tink that the problem isn't Java, it's either my computer or lousy internet connection whats the problem?

If it takes forever to load, that is not to do with java heap memory unfortunately.

what about linux/ubuntu users?
Try this command in the console
java -Xms128m -Xmx128m
You can also replace the numbers with higher ones to increase the heap even more.
